Academic
Action Network
for Palestine
We envision a future where Palestinian academia thrives as a beacon of resilience and defiance against the forces of colonialism, racism, and oppression.
Our Compass
Decolonisation of education in Palestine and worldwide.
Act-for-Pal was founded by Palestinian academics both in Palestine and in exile. Our mission is to build a grassroots academic movement rooted in unwavering principles of anti-colonialism and anti-racism. We seek to collaborate with academic colleagues across borders to create a steadfast academic community that actively confronts the systemic barriers imposed by Israeli settler colonialism and apartheid on Palestinian academic institutions.
As a transnational academic community, we are united in our commitment to advocate for academic freedom and autonomy while opposing all forms of injustice, racism, discrimination, gender inequality and anti-Palestinianism.
Our Vision
Palestinian academia thrives as a beacon of resilience.
Our vision is a future where a borderless grassroots academic movement works alongside Palestinian academics to confront and dismantle settler colonialism, racism, and oppression in Palestine, and beyond. Palestinian academic institutions emerge as vibrant centres of intellect, fostering academic freedom, inclusivity and equitable access to resources. Palestinian scholars should serve as catalysts for change and amplify their voices across continents, shaping discourse and challenging entrenched systems of injustice.
Our movement nurtures resilience and supports Palestinian academics to innovate and excel. This will be supported by sustainable, community-driven infrastructure and initiatives, while celebrating and preserving the rich tapestry of Palestinian culture, heritage, history, and identity and fostering transnational solidarity whereby knowledge transcends borders. With supportive voices and determined resilience, we forge a community dedicated to social justice, ensuring every Palestinian scholar’s voice is heard and valued. Together, we embrace diversity, foster collective action, and revolutionise Palestinian education, making a profound and lasting impact on society.

Statement from the Academic Action
Network for Palestine
The settler colonisation of Palestine over the past 76 years has profoundly impacted higher education, characterised by sustained attacks on Palestinian educational and cultural institutions since 1948.
Unequivocal Condemnation of the Israeli Massacre at Al-Tabieen School and the Ongoing Genocide in Gaza
We, the Academic Action Network for Palestine, along with the undersigned academics from across the world, condemn in the strongest possible terms the massacre of Palestinian people at the Tabieen School in Gaza City and the ongoing Israeli genocide that has continued for the last 11 months.
